  • AMF black carpet discontinued?

I heard that they were discontinued. Is this true? I also heard that there will be something to replace it. Does anyone have any info on this?

Isn't the Black Carpet a fairly new offering from QA?

Yeah they are not that old, especially as they are an 088 part number, but ya know what it really wouldn't surprise me as they probably had so many issues with them, of the 26 I have here, 80% or there abouts have failed seams, some have been replaced a while ago and done it again,, would have been an AWESOME carpet if not for the seams coming apart....

I was told they were on sale now. Buy 2 and get the 3rd one at half price. So far I have not had any seam trouble with the ones I have installed.

Are there two different black carpets? Is the carpet in question PVC?

The ones I just ordered from them are not PVC. Very flexible and an easy install and they fire right up.

Yeah I did find they ran very easy right out of the box brand new, and didn't try to slice your arm open when installing them....

Dudes.... I'm not that hard to get a hold of. You can reach me by phone (866 460 7263) and ask me directly when you have these types of questions... that's what I'm here for! Also, if you PM me here on bowltech, I get an email directly to my work email.

The black carpet is still standard equipment on the XLi EDGE pinspotter. The red carpet is not a replacement for the black (it carries a 2 year warranty while the black carries a 1 year warranty). We are always looking for products to improve performance, and the carpet is no different.

The seam issue is a catch 22. The amount of glue used at the seam caused a problem by creating stiffness at the joint. Using less glue caused a problem with the seam splitting. At this point, it appears we have found a happy medium.
                      Regards,

                      Billy T

When was the glue issue discovered and corrected? I just got 2 carpets in from a local distributor that have 05-12 on it. I assume it was made in may last year.

If they are sending me ones that are from before the problem was found I'll just order directly from amf

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
