    90xli Smoke comes out of brake area

    When sweep motor activated smoke comes out of brake area. Is brake bad or is motor windings bad? Need to know how to test each component to test if bad. Please lend me some guidance.

    These are 90xli front end motors at a center I'm helping out at.

          Can the brake smoke? We thought it might be the motor windings.

            I imagine it may do if it's constantly driving against the brake (it maybe stuck activated? How does it feel cranking by hand?) Swap table and sweep brakes see what happens

                Have you swapped stators to see if the fault follows?
