  • 82-70 Cent. Mech. to Solid State conversion on sweep

I am converting a sweep over to a solid state from the old centrifugal mechanisms. I have done many of these on tables, but i know there is a specific way to wire these up to regain sweep reverse. I dont have a diagram on hand so i was hoping someone here could help me out with some kind of wiring diagram or how-to. Im running Westinghouse motors with Solid State MP Chassis and im using the gray Solid State Switch from Qubica.

    Thanks!!!

    Wiring diagram is here http://www.cybernetic.com.au/diagram...revMP85alt.pdf

The rest for reference are on this page

It's not as tricky as the diagram makes it look

I figured it was simply moving a few wires around. So awesome!! Thanks Phil!!!

As an additional point. When you have done the wiring modification it WILL also work still with centrifugal mechanisms. So if you have a sweep motor go, and your spare doesn't have a solid state switch it will still run fine.

So you can mark up the machines which have had the wiring modification, and if you're fitting solid states in batches, then there's nothing to stop you going ahead and wiring all the others ready for your next order of switches

The grey switches come with instructions and wiring diagrams. Did you not get the papers that are included with each new switch?

I used the Bowltronics SSSS. Just hook them up and go.
            Great product.

I have issues with the bowl tronics switches on sweep motors and back end motors. I think they dont like heat very much. The back end ones work, until you try to turn on the motor while its hot (westinghouse or GE), they instantly overload and when you do get them to start, you gotta pull start em.

sweep motors just like to overload and interlock at random times

              Good morning,
I have built a tester for the MP Chassis for the 82-70 machines. Instead of using the cam switches

              *sigh* Hello friends..

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....
