although mine run quite fine, i am after some surepik trouble shooting, at the moment the odd reactive ball wants to twist the elevator belt off the top pulley, all other balls run up it fine, what daily maintenance is done to them and any other tricks that could come in handy

    Re: surepik trouble shooting

    Hi Craig,

I had this problem on my Sure-Piks (crap!), so what I wound up doing was going to Grainger and buying a larger pulley for the motor to speed it up. Works great!!!! Ball spends less time on the belt, thereby reducing the chance of the belt twisting off. Let me know if you need the Grainger part no.

Craig, When I had sure-piks I occaisionally had the same problem. Add a spring to the swinging arm to tighten the tension on your lift belt.

it cant be from oil lol

because AU doesnt use any lol

if they are older models there is no guild between approach to top metal guild.if problem isnt belt your useing and you have all 3 springs on for belt tension. put side guilds on.otherwise i would try different belt, problem could be to tacky belt with tacky ball(resin),and no oil on ball?

        hope i made sense

I have modei 190 piks.. The orange belts are going and i am replacing them with the 1305 black belts. They work fine, but the noise they make around the pulleys are irritating! Tried cleaning the undersides and used a little bit of powder and they quiet down for a day. Noise comes right back. Any Ideas??
I may not always be right, but I am never wrong.

            hey all

i know im the rebel in this group. But as to andy's prob...the underside of the AMF black belts flake off and cause the "balloons rubbing together sound"...i simply hold a flathead screwdriver to the underside of the belt while its running to remove the collection of "rubber flakes" then the noise goes away for about a week....then a month...then two months....etc.

as for craig...i had the belt deflection prob and simply lowered the pressure plate of the leather strap on the opposite side of which the belt was popping off...this centered the ball over the belt and lessened the deflection...and no pop offs since adjusted...i think a year or so
