Dose this happen to anyone else? and why?
Your center runs fine for months. Then out of the blue you get 2 to 3 obvious kidney/turnpan problems. Like headfirst feeds or swinging off the pan too much. It just can't be a fluke that they happen all at once. I usually chalk it up to weather or something silly.Tags: None

Re: Dose this happen to anyone else? and why?
I usually chalk it up to too thin a viscosity of lane conditioner, or just plain ol' too much. At Least too much to where the oil is migrating insanely and quickly to the pindecks, and getting the pins oily which allows them to fly around the orientation pans faster than a speeding bullet, and more powerful than a locomotive...sorry a Superman flashback...lol
also im assuming no one is changing pins

Re: Dose this happen to anyone else? and why?
I've had this problem too. I find that on rainy days on some machines the pin wouldn't relase out of the pin wheel on time causing it to either go completely over or onto the pan head first. The kidney was all the way down on the top and bottom mount causing the pin to wiggle slightly as it entered the kidney. Causing it to kinda seat itself. I guess the pins swell slightly in the humidity making the problem worse. When I raised the kidney so that the pins wouldn't get caught they would roll off the distributor. I fixed that by taking a bin shock mount, drilling a hole and mounting it on the front most part of the pan at the very edge. The pin now rolls off, just touches the shock mount, and goes on it's merry way. I've now put these things everywhere and decreased my dist. jams in an 80 lane center to about 2 per night.

Re: Dose this happen to anyone else? and why?
I used to bend the pans too, but as you know sometimes the bottom can contact the trip rollers if bent too far. Also a bent pan can affect the way a pin swinging the other way gets on. This solves those problems and works like a charm.

solve humidity problem with de humidifiers.run them when humidity is high
you put new pins in doesent always matter what you do with kidney pin will stick in wheel on certain machs dehumidifiers work.
your idea works for pins rolling over pan when using rough top belts this can happen too.i mount guilds extending pan and blocking pin from going round.when this problem happens pin usually are laying behind mach.
