does anybody still use these things ? when i took over my center only about 16 lanes out of 48 had them, i noticed that these 16 lanes had the cleanest carpet belts in the place. then i did something dumd, i started use vantage carpet belts and the carpet brushes were wearing they out at the seams. so i removed them as suggested from my distributor.well now i stopped using vantage carpet belts and went back to amf and other good quality belts and would like to reinstall the carpet here's where i need your help...
    does anybody else use them?
does anybody have the part number for them?
do you suggest using them or do you perfer to wipe them down or even steam clean them?

    thanks for your reply !!

    Re: carpet brushes

I used capet brushes for years. Unfortunatly those years were in the early 1970's. Be careful that your brushes you are using are not nylon. They will cause a fire. One center at the time mentioned burned to the ground and the other seriously damage was done. I heard about 10-12 years ago DBA was selling brushes but I doubt it now. I loved those thoings, really kept carpets clean and help keep them centered on rollers. At the present time I have many vantage premium carpets that I don't think would work well with brushes. Good luck in your search.

      Re: carpet brushes

yes i do still use these things and luv them. although my personal experience has been the opposite of yours. My Quality Orange Carpets...And AMF Green Carpet are fallin apart because of the brushes. But the Vantage Standard & Premium Carpets are goin strong after at least a decade. The AMF PVC holds up well and use to be my favorite until AMF jacked the price from $119 to $169...after that i just bought Vantage Premiums...$189 less 15% = $160.65

incase ya wanted to know carpet brushes from my understanding are an 82-30 thing....and for the most part are only in houses which converted to 82-70's in the 60's when AMF machines were still leased

Anyhow i dont know of any part # for them....but vantage had rumors of making a teflon version back in '93-'94...if ya ask Jack(the short dark haired guy at all the trade shows).....their national sales rep....maybe he'll give ya a few orphan brushes free of charge. otherwise all i can say is ask other old centers if they have three short myself.

As for cleaning them, I use to be a neat freak and take them out once a week bang'em on the floor bristle side down..behind the machine....clean under the machine and put the brush back in. but now that ive become pretty once a month
