I used 3 each 1/2-13 nut for spacers, and a longer 5/16-18 bolt and hardware...I love the modification, adjusted all the pin guides the same and haven't had to touch them again.
The rods on the turn pan help turn the butt first pins. I did have to bend the pin holder(black pin ejector below kidney)to help hold butt first pins in pocket, that also is working good. There are pictures in the gallery.
Thank you all for replying. And to 8270 king : so it was you that mentioned this the first time. I will have to thank you again(you helped me out with the auto off-spot too, also realy succesfull).
Thanks again for the mention nut....My first one only took about 45 minutes to complete....it makes the distributors run so pile up free it is a dream...
I have a digital camera now and I will share som of my other mods soon after summer gets here.
Masternut: I'm usually a connosieur of "Virgin" machines, but your kidney swap is the cat's a_ _! But the first one I did, I used AMF's new kidney. It's made of lighter/thinner steel, plated, and rounnded at the drop off end. That new end did two unexpected things:
1. HEAD-FIRST PINS: Kept the pin head tight in the pinwheel pocket. There was no way I could cause the head-first pin to fall out onto the pan the wrong way, even if I stopped the wheel with the pin at the drop off point and hit the guard with my hand.
2. BUTT-FIRST: The head of the pin usually hangs out of the wheel a little when it reaches the middle of the kidney. But as the belly reached the tip of the kidney, the pin turned in the pocket and the head went back into the wheel!
Couldn't get an original style kidney to do this until I rounded the tip similar to the new style. Now it's great!!
Thanks for the unorthodox Mod of the century.
Good morning, I have built a tester for the MP Chassis for the 82-70 machines. Instead of using the cam switches I am using relays. My question is to anyone that may...
Is anyone running the solderless relays on the accelerators? How do you like them? What brand? How difficult to convert was it? Would love the feed back as I'm about to switch...
Working...
