  • Head castings on 8230 machine

I work on the ancient 8230 machines and alot of the parts needed for them aren't made any more-one of them being the Head castings. We are running short and have been looking around for ANYONE that has some in good shape. Please if anyone has any to spare let me know at my email adress! It's kinda important we get some soon. We'll work something out. If you don't have any please spread the word and contact me.

Hawk, Are your head castings just breaking where the lower pantograph rod attaches, or are the holes wearing out where the bearings mount? (Probably both) But,I've had great success making a steel substitute end that taps into the aluminum that will outlast a new head. You start off with a peice of T-Bar from a bounce board (82/70) and cut, drill, grind, round off, add a spacer and bolt it up. If you have to do any bending your not configuring it right before you cut it. If you have any problems configuring it e-mail me.
