I have half my house with expanders going to get the rest after the first of the year love them. Just want to get everones thoughts on the table cable, leave it in but unplug it or take it out and all the wire in the wire way, pros. and cons. on both.
I have 82-70 mach, accuscore,SS chassy, with Omega-Tek boards. Main thing I have thoughts about is if the scoring goes down then it will not set full rack on a strike like when a wire is shorted out, wires hanging out and fingers geting hooked on them and moving the pin or nocking them over.Anyone have problems with the expander boards or are thay as good as Omega-Tek boards??
Thanks Tod Hiles
We have 70's, accuscore, ss, expanders. If the scoring console or a monitor goes down you are ok. If you unplug power to the expander card you just won't get a short strike or 7-10, or gutterball cycle. On the strike you get the phantom 2 pin. We unhooked all table cables in 1992. Now some of them are non existent. If you run the expander with the table cable in the position it uses the camera and cable if you get a respot wire off then you get the pins set on top of others which defeats the purpose of expanders. You can leave the cable on and still retain the gps by taking the wires off the terminals in the wireway. I believe you should still run in the camers only mode.
We've had expanders across the house since this summer. I ripped all my wiring out including the GPSwitch. Worse case scenario...just run a lamp cord to the fingers or.......just tell the bowler he has to....(i can hear the bowlers crying already....) push the button after a strike.
when the expanders first went in, it was not fun....lol but eventually the bugs got worked out and i've finally put my faith in them.

We left the RSC wires in place & just disconnected the table cable. Every now & then it’s nice to be able to plug the table cable back in to help diagnose a problem. Also, if you’re in the middle of a tournament & something happens that causes the expander to not function properly, (Problem not in expander but somewhere else) you can unplug the data cable from the expander, plug the table cable back in & check the RSC wires. Most of the bowlers won’t even know they lost the short strike cycle but they can continue to bowl uninterrupted.

Can somebody give an explaniton how pins 2, 3, 6 are supposed to be connected. I had a shortcircuit there for the drive motor connection because of water leakage.
I have a distributor that is pulling the belt hard to the left in the nine pin position (and possibly 6 pin), but seems fine in the other spots. As you can see the residue and...
I have several Pin Elevators that I believe to be out of round on my XLi's and was curious if anyone has ever run across this before and is so, what you did about it.
