It depends on how much the "feed the hungry" box takes in at the front counter that month.

I dont even have to ask! I can tell by the look on the owner's face!!! I had a $800.00 COD come in last month(some used parts that I got from B/T classified)I wish you could of seen his face! The sad part is I some what enjoy it for chit's and giggles.

So nobody has a set budget that they are "supposed" to be under?

I know all you AMF'ers have a number buried in all that paperwork.

              Come on cough it up.

I hope you guys with "skys the limit budgets" are running in the thousands for FPS. 8>)

But, instead of a "feed the hungry box" our budget depends on how many cans and bottles we've gathered. Pinforks are great for poking around in trash cans.

I'm not an amf'er either. But I do have to be able to persuade the owner into spending his money. Seems like you amf'ers are all on double secret probation. Please somebody give me some convinvcing evidence that humpys are the way to go instead of pbls. :p

I will cough up kat's furball! One of my best friend worked for AMF 2 years ago in a 40 laner in southern Ohio. His budget was $1000 per month and that was approach to pinwheel.

Also if anyone wants to pinchase for me just bring your crosssword puzzles - it gets boring in the back. How do you guys think I surf the net all day. We have 4 day leagues from Tuesday to Thursday.

                        Re: What's your monthly budget?

Well for me it varies. At (most) of the centers I've worked at.
If you run out, order more. Sometimes you wait until it's on sale before you order it. If it breaks and you don't have a replacement (table torque tube is the most recent) order it from the company that has the best price. CBS has been very good to us when this happens.
We do a lot of jerryrigging to make things work when they're broke. Stretch it as far as it will go.
Tonight there was 0 problems. Not even an OOR. And a full house of leagues. It can be done.
It all depends. $0 to $5000. It all depends on what breaks. My boss has busted into the owner's office and shaken his finger at him too many times to make it any different.
When I was working at an AMF house in the middle of the summer (average temp was in excess of 80) the A/C went out. Bigtime. Beyond fixing. It took a month and a half for Corporate to cough up the money to put a new A/C unit on top of the building. I s**t you not, It got to be 100 degrees in the building sometimes. A tournament that was scheduled there was moved to an indepedednt house with A/C. Guys would take off their shirts and I had to go explain to them that they couldn't do that. Meanwhile, I had to wear my ridiculous knit shirt and long slacks. Corporate didn't care. They insisted on us charging $3.50/game throughout. We lost a lot of business.
It's good to work for an independent!

I have no limit here. Boss will cry a little but I tell him if his machines don't run, thats means he has no bowlers and thats says no $$$$ for his pocket. Now thats doesn't mean that I go wild on the spending I just make sure that I have spare parts on hand. I have a 66 lane place here to take care of.

I'm an AMF'er but no one has told me my budget was "top secret".

Anyone have a clue as to why were not supposed to tell?

The best guide I’ve seen for a maintenance budget is 1k per machine, annually. (Not including pins)
At my 2nd job I’ve never had a budget per-say, it’s always been “If we need it, order it. If we don’t need it, don’t order it.” The boss has always trusted my judgement.

                              Dennis,
Humpy’s have a better warranty than PBL’s & houses with PBL’s are upgrading to Humpy’s. For bottom line pleasure, Humpy’s have no moving parts other than the lift. Hence, nothing else to maintain or replace when it wears out.
