Machine run good...but every now & then,it hangs up trying to spot pins AFTER A STRIKE.
Never acts up on normal 2nd ball cycle.
might run an hour without a hitch, then poof,no spot after strike.
IT DOESN"T MATTER what chassis I put on it,(I've tried 4-5 different ones off working machines).. C1 plug has been replaced, new sockets.
Replaced motor capacitors..just in case.
The table contactor just doesn't stay engaged. It jumps up then right back down.Table moves about 5` rotation.
This might do this 3-6 times/hour on a shift.
might not !!
the things getting on my nerves
ideas??? THX !
I never had a "10" ;..but ,one night after closing,..I did five " 2's" !
Sounds like you need to add a capacitor to your bin switch circuit. The other dudes on here will give you the specifics. I still use 5 boards (-150dc).
Pindecked, I might leading you down the wrong path, but is the sweep trying to ingage the same time as the table or maybe the sweep is not coming back to the proper guard position and sending mixxed signals to the chasiss. Check the sweep cams. You might have to tweek them. I had a problem like yours and I checked everything. Every time I cylced the machine the sweep would look okay but then the next time it just didn't look right. I had to adjust SB until that looked right, then had to adjust SA to smooth it out. Hope this helps. Knuckles
AMF MAGIC, I agree with you on the pesky electronic gremlins. Knuckles
YOU CAN TRY THE CAPACITOR LIKE THE OTHERS SAID. IT SHOULD BE A 100 MICROFARIT CAP. AND PUT IT ACROSS TS32 AND TS34. BUT I DONT THINK THAT IS THE PROB. I THINKK YOU HAVE A PROBLEM IN THE MANAGERS CONTROLL. TRY JUMPING THE MACHINE IN THE AMC BOX AT THE START OF THE LEAGUES. I BET IT GOES AWAY.I HAVE HAD IT MANY TIMES BEFORE. MY MANAGERS CONTROLLS BOXES USED TO BE A NIGHTMARE. I TOOK OUT ALL THE INSTRUCTOMATS AND PUT IN ALL NEW SWITCHES. THAT HAS TO BE IT . IT HAPPENED TO ME JUST LIKE YOU HAD EXPLAINED. HOPE THIS HELPS. GLEN
Pindecked, You said you checked the table cams, I've seen microswithches test good but still go bad. I would check those table cams again and change them all if you have time and no other helpful advice. Sorry, I can't think of anything else. Knuckles
Magic,
On a 5 board chassis its usualy the BS neon or photo cell on the #1 board. Then check your +10vDC on your #5 board. You can check +10/-6.8 at the Aux. board or #1 board without using a test board or soldering leads to the #5 board.
Swop the spotting relay with another chassis and swop the M&M2 in the same chassis. Sometimes the movement of the machine caused by the shuttle action vibrates faulty contact and socket connections in the relays.
Capacitor #1 in the chassis could be goin bad. Its used in the +10vDC spotting relay circuit.
Have to double the agree with JJP. I have had this problem before (call them no spots) and it has always been a flakey micro switch.
This has been with 5 boards or with omega tek converts. Why would a capacitor be needed for something that worked fine for years and then suddenly started going bad ?
Ooh. this JJP guy must know what's up!
Our little mess worked itsself out on its own, have had no problems for the last few days! Maybe we've just had crappy bowlers on that lane.
Bender-
I will print that info and keep it at my 5-board center for future reference. Wow, you really know your schiznig!
best 'o luck, pindecked! Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
I THINK I got it....bent teminal on ta2...almost ,slightly touching the wire on the adjacent switch !!
I ran it 2 hrs. (kids B-day party) ,,,no problems ,,,but ,not many strikes ,either !!
Mon. 6:30 pm shift will tell the story !
HEY...this IS the same machine that the back end motor won't shut off..deal with that !
I've checked wireway for alien objects...none.
Rebuilt C1 plug
replaced master CB & pit switch
replaced motor stator
tried no less than 8 different chassis
motor does NOT run without chassis hooked up..

Can somebody give an explaniton how pins 2, 3, 6 are supposed to be connected. I had a shortcircuit there for the drive motor connection because of water leakage.
I have a distributor that is pulling the belt hard to the left in the nine pin position (and possibly 6 pin), but seems fine in the other spots. As you can see the residue and...
I have several Pin Elevators that I believe to be out of round on my XLi's and was curious if anyone has ever run across this before and is so, what you did about it.
I'm...
