• Omega Tek problem

I have another weird problem. I have a chassis with an Omega Tek mk-70 and an expander card (82-70 machines with Accuscore Plus)). I know it is a chassis problem and NOT a board problem because i already swapped boards.

Hmm, are your table cables still in and hooked up and does the strike light on the masking unit light? If ya got the cables still in and the "X" light doesn't come on, it's a grounded cell somewhere more then likely. If this is the case, check all the wires and see if a wire is touchin the frame or cell somewhere, if not that one of the 1/4 inch nuts in the cells could be too far out or that whole insert assy could be loose. We still have our cables hooked up and when a cell grounds this is exactly what happens. Hope this helps

Did you change the enitire chassis or just the board? If you just changed the board, try a whole different chassis. Also try the problem chassis on a different machine. This will help determine if the problem is in the chassis itself or if the problem lies in the machine. Sounds like it could be a bad spot relay in the chassis, but if it is only on strikes that is probably not the case.
Give me a hammer and some duct tape and I can fix it!

the way you describe it sounds like a table ground like Rep said. and like king said...have you swapped chassis??

in the middle of the expander board is a jumper..mine have yellow jumps on it. place it on the bottom two pins so the chassis ignores the respots..

before my expander days, i had quite a few "uniquely engineered" jumped respot wires in the wireway/table/chassis. had a few machines do what you described.

sorry, pinspotter asked if you swapped chassis, i saw 8270 and assumed it was king

If you say the problem is in the chassis and not the board, then try swapping the spot relay. It sounds like the spot solenoid is not engaging the make the table run to spot height.

as silly as this may sound, you don't have something arcing across the mother board, causing a false strike cycle, or a pm plug short
i don't need mods, i am a bloody genius

Re: Omega Tek problem

I'd agree that the spot relay may be the culprit because you say the sweep runs through and stops at second guard before the table runs.
If not for the fact that the problem follows the chassis from machine to machine, the next thing I'd check is the spot solenoid itsself, then all the connections between it and the chassis.
Swap just the SP relay with the same on another chassis and see what happens!
Good luck, dooder!

Also...
If spot relay swap does not solve problem - check resistance on good ol' C2A 25X and 112cc, then connections on TS-3 and TS-17.
It will surely be on the circuit closed by Spot Relay, TA2, and/or the Bin Switch.
