  • Cushion shock x-washer pins

I have been replacing the x-washer pins with 1/2 grade 8 bolts and nylon lock nuts and grade 8 flat washers. I got tired of the x washers falling off and balls going into the pinwheel. I replaced all 3 of the pins. They all seem to be working well. The bolts for the cushion shock were free - I used the bolts off some mod4 seating for those.

Ditto Sam. I have that set up at my place also.

      To each his own.

I would never recommend replacing the pins with bolts for several reasons.

      Note:
Never re-use a X-washer. they are a single use item.

Use the correct size and don't over close them.

Properly installed X-washers don't wall off 82-70 machines.

        Re: Cushion shock x-washer pins

we put a flat washer on before the x-washer. This prevents the x-washer from getting damaged. never had one fall off since we started doing this.
