Hi all,
hope you guys can help me. The trouble that I'm
having: table contacts chatter and the pit light
will shut off while machine is in spotting action.
Here is a list of things that I have done,
1)changed the chassis
2)changed the table motor
3)both table capacitors
4)replaced all the pins in the c-1 plug
5)the spot solenoid
6)switch at the desk
7)check the switches in the control box
The machine is turned on through the computer (Brunswick scoring). It runs fine in a 1st ball cycle. Now, if I turn it on using the old toggle switch from the desk, it does the same thing. O.K. here's the strange thing, while the machine is on, I can turn it on from the control box on the back of the machine (we have a switch on it to do so) the machine will spot the pins with no trouble. Any in-put would be great and thank in advance.

My guess is your managers control circuit is shorting to some other power source somewhere along the line, or in the Bruns. module. Does cycling from the cushion work when you have it turned on from the back? Maybe your setup uses an RPO box and when you use the mech cycle button it works, but when you cycle it from the cushion it blacks out. That would point to something in the managers control circuit.

Everytime I have had this problem it has been bad pins in the C1 plug. Make sure the block is good and is not cracked between any of the holes. If it is cracked, it will cause arcing and the problem you are having.
Give me a hammer and some duct tape and I can fix it!
Right under the chassis in the wireway there is a jumper wire. Can't remember what terminals but, it is on the left side of wireway when looking down from machine. Also, if you have an elco style plug (thin green plug) going into chassis make sure it is tight. A loose plug will cause machine to go on and off during spotting action, thus causing table and sweep chatter.

If you still have an old counter; the counters that are used for frame counting are connected with your spotting relay. If you have a short in your counter or the diode(parallel over your counter) this problem might happen.
Hey thanks for all the help. The problem was with the L.I.U. board from brunswick. They jump the manger control switch at the counter to turn on the lanes. There was a burnt capacitor in one of the ports. Again thanks for all the help.
Can somebody give an explaniton how pins 2, 3, 6 are supposed to be connected. I had a shortcircuit there for the drive motor connection because of water leakage.
I have a distributor that is pulling the belt hard to the left in the nine pin position (and possibly 6 pin), but seems fine in the other spots. As you can see the residue and...
I have several Pin Elevators that I believe to be out of round on my XLi's and was curious if anyone has ever run across this before and is so, what you did about it.
