    ive been a mechanic for 20 yrs,, but only on brunswick,,,now been working on amf for a yr, going to school next month for it,, just wordering if any body else has this problem ,, have a machine that once in awhile pin falls out of cup , only the nine,, has a new type of cup, think its called lexon or something like that,,,anyway..it seems to kinda squeeze its self out ..like the belly gets hung up in it.., over half my cups are these cups but only had one other do it,,the cups plastic, guess i should change it ,, is their any secrets that i should know about,,,and if your wondering, no its not hitting the cell, and 95% of the time it spots perfect,,,,

    Take out the cup liner...it is not needed...they get oil soaked and get sticky sometimes....or the pin is a little deformed from play and does not orient right in the cup.

      I agree with King on the cup liners. Get rid of them, they only cause trouble. You said the cup is plastic so the gap at the bottom should be right, but check it with the gauge just to make sure. If it is too close together it will not let go of some pins. Especially if they are beat up a little. With metal cups, when they pinched together a little all I do is take a long screw driver and CAREFULLY bend is open a little to create the 4 1/2 inch gap. But since the cup is plastic I would try removing the liners. The problem will most likely go away.
      Give me a hammer and some duct tape and I can fix it!
