I have worked on 70C's for 20 years and have always seen this problem. The Distributor has problems feeding the 7 and 10 into the corner bins. It occurs more at the 7 for some reason and am wondering if the is a design flaw in the indexing cam. I have remedied this over the years by changing the cam or reworking the shape of the bin. In the past week, I have seen this about 15 times all at the 7 bin. Everything is adjusted right. Clutch is good and clean, Driveshaft U-joint and balls good, Dist. clutch tension good. Dist belt good. Indexes great All bins parts good
I don't know if any of you have had any long term observations like this. It seems as though all replacement cams made after 1990 or 91 are not exactly the same as ones made prior to that time. The Dist. to me don't seem to swing as far to left and right as they used to. Maybe each cam is minutely different now due to the manufacturing process.
Do you think raising the Dist. support up higher than spec is an option. I have done this before with excellent results.
as king mentioned, add a washer or two [(depending on how close your front is to your rear) (i'll let you interpret that)] to the rod ending which is bolted into the lateral arm. this washer allows the distributor to exagerate (left and right) the cam pattern.

Can somebody give an explaniton how pins 2, 3, 6 are supposed to be connected. I had a shortcircuit there for the drive motor connection because of water leakage.
I have a distributor that is pulling the belt hard to the left in the nine pin position (and possibly 6 pin), but seems fine in the other spots. As you can see the residue and...
I have several Pin Elevators that I believe to be out of round on my XLi's and was curious if anyone has ever run across this before and is so, what you did about it.
