• r/s cell wireways?

we just started replacing all of the links that connect the respot cells together. all of the old ones look like a bmx track. we are installing the new style wireways we don't need the wireway part of it, i just like the fact that they won't bend as easy. i noticed that there are two different styles for the 1-2-4-7 cells one connect directly to the 7 cell and the other is a new style version of the original where the 7 cell needs the longer carb link. so my question is this. what's the difference(aside from the length). i tried to put one of the longer ones on to do away with the long 7 carb link but i couldn't get it adjusted right. is there a trick to these or are certain styles for certain serial numbers? i think it more like i'm missing something because all tables are pretty much the same...right?

The one with the long carb link is an OLD style. You also need a different part on the r/c arm if my memory serves me correctly.

if your useing the long carb link for the seven
u have to ajust the cells in the closed positon
to make them work
if that dont work let me know

just my 2 cents

and if your useing the small carb like the rest of the cells u adjust the cells in the open position pop all off and adjust them one by one make sure u have about 1/8 play in the carb to the ball joint on the wire ways dont put back till all are adjusted and make sure the main carb is adjusted first if need be Then start on cell one and make your way to to the back when all cells are done pop them on one by one open and close cells then run machine and see if they pick up pins

if dont work let me know
i have both styles of carbs on my machines 1-16 have the small carb 17-24 have the long carb on the seven
just my 2 cents

What you have to do is, remove the lever (070002656)and put on lever (070002633)the new long link mounts to the respot cell where the ball is on the other nine cells. Then remove link assembly(070002582)from link assembly (070002583)or as I call it the bell crank. Put a ball on the crank , put a ball on the new link behind the two cell(I Don't know the measurement so maybe someone on bowltech can tell you). Get a short linkage to put on the new balls this is now your new place to adjust the seven cell. If you want an easier way to adjust the respot cells e-mail me as it is to long to explain at this time but if you learn it it only takes 5 minutes.

Re: r/s cell wireways?

I've worked with both setups & I prefer the long wireway that connects to the 7 cell. I'm slowly converting them over. It makes all of the RSC's the same except for the pin that attaches the wireway to the 7.

The easiest way I've found to adj. carb links is…

1) Put the machine on 2nd ball & cycle it.
2) Stop the table at BDC (bottom dead center) of the spot cycle & remove the pins.
3) Disconnect all of the links except the main link (to the bell crank).
4) Adj. the main link to achieve the proper “full open” amount of play at the 7 cell. (I don't remember what the book says to set it at but I set mine at about ¾&#8221
5) Reconnect & adj. the other cells to match the 7.

This procedure hasn't failed me yet.

Dutch,
Thats how I adjust mine except for the 3/4 inch. I like 1/4 inch play. You are right it never fails and takes 5 minutes.
