I have a chassis (solid state) omega tek board, with no pin deck lights. I have replaced several burnt pin on both c-1 and c-2 plugs. Still no pin deck lights. Is it in the pm plug? Or in the M relay? Can you have a bad relay that say operates 3 functions but only 2 functions are working? Or if it is bad...nothing works? kinda like an all or nothing situation.
Chassis work is not really my thing. I was never trained on chassis work. Been lucky so far.
First of all I would plug the light assembly in a wall socket to find out if it is a machine problem or a light problem. If the light goes on after plugglin into a wall socket, I would start with checking the connections for the pit light receptacle in the wire channel of the machine. If the light does not go on after plugging into a wall socket, you might want to look at the end pieces and make sure they are tight and in good shape. Also replace the starter with a known good one.
Have you checked for power at the twist lock?
Have you checked the lamp starter?
Is the ballast ok?
Plug a spare pit light in.
I have a spare light assy ready to go always!
C1 top row, 4th from left when looking at it from the outside, thats your pit light wire/pin make sure it wasnt accidentally put back in the 3rd from left hole
Casey: when you put a new bulb in does it just flicker and appear very dim? 10:1 its your ballast. Lil bastards. Tbe times its been a connector you can mickey mouse it to get through league by using some electrical tape and straping it around the sides to hold it in place. I agee with 82/70 king =... you always need to keep a spare assy available because they will go at any givin time.
CASEY
are you saying your deck lite problem is in the chassis or the machine I can't tell so many posts telling you to check the deck lite.
if the problem is the chassis I would switch the m - m-2 relays or change both of them.
if that doesn't do it I would check the wires on the bottom of the relay sockets for a loose solder joint or a broken wire.CRUD
if things aren't going right just use a bigger hammer! DIRT
I would try the simplest procedure first by swapping both your 24V relays with another chassis. I'm not for sure which one the pin deck light goes through.
Then make sure the high voltage pins that control the deck light are not burnt.
One other thing, that can stump a few, is the relay socket could have poor connection to the relay. AMF make a replacement socket. You would have to drill out the old rivets. They are fairly easy to change if you have decent soldering skills. Just be careful about touching adjacent wires with the soldering iron.
During this time of the year, the cold can cause poor connections that sometimes seem to fix them self’s when things warm up.

Casey, this might be a long shot but if all else fails try switching around the omega tech boards. I recently had a omega tech board where the light was blinking off and on. I narrowed it down to the board. There were other problems with the board so I sent it back to omega tech. They sent me a new board. Just a thought.
Good luck. knuckles
Casey, This is kind of a 'no brainer' situation for propperly trained AMF mechanics. No insult implied. You should realy seek out the training needed to repair the pinsetters. AMF and Stalls70 offer courses on pinsetters excusively, or you can seek out your local community collage for electrical/mechanical studies.

LAADEEDAH. They also offer remedial spelling (realy)
bowltech is just not for us who have been at it for decades. there are some things that just arent taught, or overlooked. only reason i know as little as i do is because my head mechanic sucked and i had to learn so little.
ida killed to have this site when i was a pinchaser electricuting myself to learn.
reguardless of the question im here to help other mechs, reguardless of the question
Good morning, I have built a tester for the MP Chassis for the 82-70 machines. Instead of using the cam switches I am using relays. My question is to anyone that may...
Is anyone running the solderless relays on the accelerators? How do you like them? What brand? How difficult to convert was it? Would love the feed back as I'm about to switch...
Working...
