Re: Torn curtain
The canvas-like curtains we have separate at the top stitch where the curtain rod goes through them once in a while... If they're not really bad, I take them to a place in the area that fixes automotive upholstery and tops. He has a heavy sewing machine that he uses to fix soft tops on jeeps & convertibles... We asked him a while ago if he could stitch stuff like that, he tried it and was able to do it w/ no problems. He's gotten all of our stitching work since. I had him double-stitch the edges of a couple of ours that were starting to fray, and they've held up good so far. See if there's any place like that in your area.
Sounds weird, but if you have a good shoe store that does repairs, they'll probably have a heavy machine for sewing leather that would probably do it too... Other places would be leather shops or places that service horse-riding tack and saddles. Check around.Educatio est omnium efficacissima forma rebellionis

Re: Torn curtain
Dear Mr badrack. I have been looking all over the country for a solution to your problem. It seems there is no easy solution for a quick fix.
I contacted Mr Ed Fox in regard to your problem. He suggested that you stop cutting the curtains with your razor knife, then he hung up on me.LOL
If you have extra time on your hands you can get a Harbor Freight catalog. They sell a sewwing awl with heavy duty thread. I tried it. Took me about 45 minutes to sew the curtain where the curtain rod goes through. Needles to say I did not have a straight line of stitch. LOL
Good Luck.

Re: Torn curtain
Hey crud: Did you get that new pindeck treatment yet? How has it held up? I am using ledgends at present, well not present but have started to spray my pindecks. It is holding up quite well. Intrested to know how the new stuff you got holds up.

Re: Torn curtain
DEADWOOD,
the new stuff seems better it stays on longer then the legends, but what I think I'M going to try next is going to the beach and get a couple of pounds of sand and coat the decks with urethane and put sand on them, then let it dry
then put another coat of urethane on and see if that will work and last it should be
just like sand papper. GROUCHOif things aren't going right just use a bigger hammer! DIRT

Re: Torn curtain
Hahahahaha.... You always get a laugh out of me.
Speaking about curtins, I got a few at my place that someone decided to use old carpets to repair them. Tacky!
My deck treatment will hold up really well if my sweeps didnt take it off. Thats 3rd on my list. Crud, have to come by when i get back next week so we can BS.

Re: Torn curtain
Deadwood:
I told you what you can do in the meantime until you can retrofit with the 090-001-170/171 brackets.
Add a couple washers to your plunger to get 1/4" at 4-5-6 line. Then turn the crack pipe in at 66/270 so that your rake sits lower at guard.
But, me personally, I kinda like listening to rakes drag on the pindeck."Where are we going, and why are we in a hand basket?"
