• what caused this!

Here's a test for you, we put in some machines years ago. Upon firing them up lane 1 was cycling lane 2 when you threw a ball ,also at the same time, each pair of lanes had this problem.Throw a ball on a lane and its partner would cycle at the same time. 16 lane house, Creative tech. boards in the chassis. 2 hints,it had nothing to do with the front desk or reflectors.
This is a very real problem that happened.
Good Luck

Was it the 2x4's that you have jammed inbetween the machines?

Just kidding bud :p

Re: what caused this!

Do you have triggering? If so your ball detect might be shaking on impact when it comes incontact with a ball hitting the gutter. We had this problem when we mounted our ball sensors behind the downsweeps. Try and taking those 2x4's out of your kickbacks and bracing your ball triggers if you have them. Wierdest thing. Throw a gutter 10 side lane 1 and see lane 2 cycle. Common thing i guess.

Re: what caused this!

My guess is the machines were wired for RPO boxes when you got them and the installers forgot to make changes to the wiring? Hell, I don't know.

Re: what caused this!

I have seen a bad MI box do that, but not with new scoring.

I believe there is a common wire in the amc box that links the two machines in some way. I don't know what terminals are involved but maybe they got the wrong terminals hooked up when they did the install.

Maybe you got 8 cross talking ball trigger switches.

Maybe you got 16 perfectly matched electronic gremlins.

I just don't know.

We didn't have the triggering installed yet, just had the basic start switches.

Would this occur if the Even Lane had the ball sent down , or just if the Odd Lane was bowled ?

I'm assuming from all available info that the are plain straight up 82-70s

It would have to be a wiring issue in & or around the Chassis & associated gear for my 10 cents worth , as it was an Installation error / mistake

After reading the original post , something has got me thinking 10th Frame / Reset Pins button .

Not sure why though ,

Just something from memory that did occur at a 70's house I previously worked at ( & returning to , starting tommorrow ) , Exact error / fault is hazy now but the 10th Frame button was in the problem there somehow .

Mark's getting warmer, the machines are straight up, some pairs it was the even lane some lanes it was the odd lane, had a lot of sweeps hit for a while.
