Re: full rack of pins
Dane, you say the chassis won't spot the pins, does it pick up the pins and respot them?
Do you have the old style lower and upper contacts, you could have a bad table contactor or a wire has broken off from the table contactor.
Good luck. Lets us know what you find.

Re: full rack of pins
Dane,
There is a 'relay' in the chassis that makes the pins set up. Its called the S relay and it just plugs into a socket inside the chassis. You can try changing this relay with another chassis to see if its bad or not. You can find it in the chassis by looking for the letters "S" stamped in the metal next to it.

Re: full rack of pins
One of these days I'll have to get rid of my 5-boards. I'm starting to feel a little old and senile right about now.
Thanks Deadwood,

Re: full rack of pins
Well, if the table will run, but just won't spot, you may have a mechanical problem instead of an electrical one... check the front-end and make sure you don't have a loose linkage or a failing part.
On the electrical end, your spot solenoid linkage could be hanging up on something, or the solenoid itself could be getting weak and not providing enough 'pull' once it heats up (hence getting about 1/2 a game out of it before it acts up).
Check the other factors outside the chassis...a lot of times on these animals, a problem that looks to be chassis-related really isn't...Educatio est omnium efficacissima forma rebellionis

Re: full rack of pins
G's got it. That would be the only other thing I can think of is that your spot solonoid is bad. I cant say that I think that the linkage would be binding because that solonoid should be able to pull strong enough to break free of any bind. Put on a lighter note this does not sound like a mechanical problem. If both male and female pins in your C1 block are good then definantly break out your multimeter and check for 24v. If that checks out then I would check your S-relay socket. You may have burned wires. Good Luck
deadwoodWell thats just like your opinion man...
