Why is a 70 rear roller shaft longer than a 30 rear roller shaft?

because the 30,s used a in pulley locking hub, so the shaft only has to stick into the ball elevator compartment by no more then 50mm, thay then woke up when thay made the 70,s because using locking bolts straight onto the shaft, was a more positave locking methed, the old way you could easly strip the thread in the pulleys

I'll take a crack at it.....well...from the little experience that I have....with a 30 kicker conversion the plate install varies greatly....generally...or atleast it feels that there's half of the space to work with...99% of the time we cut thre shafts even shorter. Why have something 12 inches long if 3 inches does the job? ...Thats what Chaddy-Poo told me anyway.....
