what is the easiest way to align a Ball detector I spent 4 hours and tried a diffrent Ball detector adn diffrent Mi and still can't get it lined uo I got 20 kines up but not 19 but it will cycle if you hold a reflector right up to it. we have 82-70

Sling a snap line from each of your reflectors. Then, looking straight down the line line up the ball detect IR sensors with the line. Ensure that the lenses are clean (free of any lane cleaner overspray residue). Also use the oversized reflectors if you can get them.

      Re: Ball detector

If it is AMF ball detects you are talking about:

The original version had small reflectors.

Call AMF and order the larger reflectors and they will work much better.

        Re: Ball detector

If it's an AMF ball detector, they have led's that flash when it's lined up. If you still can't get it lined up, then your reflector and the IR sensor is not in line very well.

In the middle of the box there are 2 potentiometer
screws one for each lane, turn the screw until you see the led flash faster.

              Re: Ball detector

You definately need to keep them clean. Dirt and dust can really interfere with the IR beam and cause all sorts of problems. I usually go through about once a month and wipe mine off.
