• table drive not unlatching?

i have one machine that doesn't seem to unlock the table drive when thw solenoid is energized. the sloenoid linkage is not collaping. the only way that i can seem to get it to unlatch it to tape some cardboard on the latch to force the t.d. open. it's a new t.d. from vantage, allof the solenoid linkage is new, new table torque tube (that was changed for another reason) is there any thing else that it could possibly be? thanks

Check the holes in the pins that go through the latch assy. The roll pins usually elongate enough to not allow the eccentric to release.

How about spring #070 006 283 on spring clip 070 006 280, is it pulled thight enough? When you manually close the solenoid does it spot? Also correct spring for t. d.(070 006 917/or/ 070 001 845)

adjust TA-1 so the table stops earlier.

Alex
How about the compressed spring assembly that connects to the soleinod. Is all that new? I just had a similar problem and all the pieces inside the compressed spring assembly where all chewwed up so it would not compress and retract the way it is suppose to.

The soleinod looks like it is working right but the compressed spring did not pull the linkage up fast enough to hold the latch up long enough to unlock the table drive.

Hope this helps.

Re: table drive not unlatching?

thanks for the input guys i'll take a look at what you suggested and see if i can figure something out.if i hold the solenoid sometimes it will spot and sometimes it false cycles as for the solenoid linkage. the links are new but i didn't have any of the seats or springs in stock. i did notice that the linkage on this machine would "collapes" easily compared to my other machines. so i drilled a hole through the links and installed a roll pin to see if that would solve the problem. it did for 3 cycles and the table drive started it thing again.thanks again.

Re: table drive not unlatching?

Theres an aluminum link that sets behind the solenoid linkage. If it breaks the linkage wont stay locked when engaged. If thats not it, take out the rubber spacers used to mount the solenoid.

Re: table drive not unlatching?

A quick word about solenoids. The brand (I can't recall the name right now) that's sold by AMF, Vantage, Quality is no good. They are too long in the closed position, so the linkage does not lock.
Even if you remove the rubber washers, it cannot pull the spring link up high enough.
The only supplier of the original brand which still is the right size is Murrey.

ALEX,
as you stated it is a new table dr from vantage!
I would put it on a different machine
and see if the problem follows!!
if problem follows you may have to re adjust it with a big hammer and the channel locks.
or else call vantage and ask them to send you one
that will work! CUJO
if things aren't going right just use a bigger hammer! DIRT
