pins falling
i have run into problem all of the sudden. i have pins falling down all over the place. the problem doesn't seem to be in the tables themselves but it seems that it may be a shuttle or bin problem. when the machine shuttles to drop the pins into the cups it does so fine but the pin seems to be "teetering" on the cup and when the cup pivots to set pins the pin will be falling out before it comes close to the deck. would this be a shuttle/bin problem? this one is kinda throwing me for a loop. thanks, alex.Conditioner: Pantene Pro-V Brunette Expressions with Color Enhancer

Re: pins falling
The last time I had that problem, it was the shifter in the front of the table where the table rods attach. Turns out the bushing on the one side was cracked and was allowing it to flop around and bind. I found it by accident... in the process of trying to adjust the table to stop the pins from falling, I happened to bump it, and it moved side to side instead of just pivoting. As soon as I changed it & readjusted, the problem disappeared.Educatio est omnium efficacissima forma rebellionis

Re: pins falling
One quick test will tell you if the shuttle could be a problem. Wipe down the shuttle pin holders with a little lane oil. See if they shuttle through to the cups better. Check out the table zero. A "late" shuttle could be caused by an early table run. The cups will start to tilt before the wood is in them. A long shuttle stroke or a "soft" shuttle rod will also cause that type of a problem."Gun control is the policy of tyrants"

Re: pins falling
It sounds to me like you have a problem with pins that are not seating until the cups are descending. You might want to check that your cups aren't too flat in the horizontal position and that the pins aren't dragging in the cups. We have had pretty good luck with Armor All Ultra in getting a nice dry slide.

Re: pins falling
thanks for all of your input, i appreciate it. but the problem seemed to go away on it's own . my boss said to order a spare shuttle and i guess the machines heard him say it and they started shuttling. i don't know why but we really didn't do anything to "fix" the problem....we'll see i guess

Re: pins falling
Be afraid... that's the worst kind of problem. You'll lose more hair trying to dig out an intermittent problem than you would being married. It never fails it will show up in the middle of a packed-house, high-dollar tourney night, and make you look like an a$$ for a while until you pinpoint it.Educatio est omnium efficacissima forma rebellionis
