We put in APEX uv joint's in last year(two year warranty) and I have found alot of them have already busted thier seals and started leaking or the boot has already busted. Has anyone else had any problems with this product?

Re: APEX UV joints
We have used apex since day one at my current center. Granted that when we ordered them we recieved 2 different kinds but they outlast the amf/vantage ones. The vantage U joints are great but grease leaks out of the boot because there only secured on there by a spring. Common guys..a spring? Lets spend the extra cent and use zip ties.
deadwoodWell thats just like your opinion man...

Re: APEX UV joints
Since I use the pitbull U- joint and knowing I have to change them once a year and knowing I don't need grease and knowing they are not expensive I should choose for that one!!
I heard the Bulldog is good too.
Martin
PS
The pitbull is from Vantage, the Bulldog is from Universal Revolutions. So it goes.

Re: APEX UV joints
I just use the standard AMF metal ones with no problems. The Apex joints cost twice as much and aren't really any better in my opinion. I have AMF joints running strong for well over 5 years now.Give me a hammer and some duct tape and I can fix it!

Re: APEX UV joints
I think Martins on the right track. You can by 5 of the plastic ones for the price of a metal one. Just do the whole house in plastic every year or so.
If anybody wants to know how many games I get off the AMF Gold, AMF plastic and Vantage metal I could do some homework this weekend and post the numbers.

Re: APEX UV joints
APEX joint boots do pop pretty easy. I got some rebuild boots to fix the problem (grainger?). I cut the metal clamps/springs that hold the boot in place, cut the boot off, then replace it with a new boot, shoot some grease into it with a grease needle, and close it up with a zippie. None of the rebuild boots have torn so far.Educatio est omnium efficacissima forma rebellionis
