• Sweep Problem

Recently I have had a sweep start to grab pins and interlock at the back of the pin deck. After going through a few adjustments I noticed that (from the front of the machine) the sweep has been rubbing the kick back on the right side and the left side of the sweep hits the edge of the pin deck. It looks as if the whole thing is put in an inch too far to the right. This allows a pin head get stuck under the right side near the pindeck and binds the whole damn thing up. Is it really that hard to adjust the sweep or is my lack of patience with it just causing me to do something wrong here?

At gaurd the sweep is about 3/4 inch off of the gutter, as per amf book, and it also just barely touches pins set at the rear of the pin just as the book says. What am I missing? Thanks for your help in advance, I'm starting to think I need a bigger hammer!!

Re: Sweep Problem

You will need to loosen the horsehoe blocks at the top of your rake arms. Do both sides. With them loose, you can change the side to side pitch of the entire assembly. Once you break these loose, it's pretty much common sense on how to get where you need to be.
(The blocks I'm referring to are right underneath the catwalks).

Hope this is of some help. Let me know if you need more detail.
