This has been a problem for a while. This sure-pik only runs on auxiliary, but not in normal mode. This is what I have done so far....
1. Replaced the safety switch (twice)
2. Replaced the auxiliary switch (3 times)
3. Replaced the entire insides of the power box (5 times)..basically a totally new box 5 times over.
4. Re-wired /replaced wires leading from terminals 2 and 3 in power box all the way to the A&MC box in the back
5. Replaced chassis on both machines (shot in dark)
6. Replaced relay 5 times (see above)
7. Did continuity tests on ALL wires in power box each time I replaced it
8. did continuity tests on in-line fuses and holders.
I think that about covers everything. Here's what is different though. I did a voltage test on terminals 2 and 3 in the power box. I get 24V on terminal 2 but not on terminal 3. I know there is supposed to be 24V on both. I know thats a problem but I dunno where to check after that. Any sure-pik guru's out there with any clue I'd gladly appreciate any input you'd have. Thank you!!!
I got out wiring digram out.
don.i know with one it is three different
ones.I'm guessing it has one relay in the
box.what goes back to a&mc box goes to a relay
in the chassis.relay in sirpk relay coil in
that circit.I think it maybe aux.sw or safety
sw.
try jumping terminals 2-3 in the sure stuck
control box and leave the switch on normal.
if it comes on the problem is the wires coming
from am&c box or a wire got disconnected or broke
in the am&c box
if it doesn't come on jumping 2-3, the problem is
in the sure junk control box. :p
if things aren't going right just use a bigger hammer! DIRT
They're all 1 relay boxes. Thanks for the suggestions . I'll check and let ya know what I find.
Thanks!
Bob
Ok, I jumped terminals 2 and 3 in the power box and the power went on. But, when I remove the corresponding wires in the a&mc box in the back and jump them together, I also get power. So I KNOW the wires leading from the A&MC box to the sure-pik are good. Are there any other wires in the A&MC box to check or is there anything else I should check other than what I already listed previously?
GIMINIX,
the next thing to check is the wires in the am&c box the tan wires are reversed going to terminal #3 in other words the odd lane goes to the even, and even goes to odd.
the yellow wires goes to the same side it comes from even to even, and odd to odd!
if that doesn't fix it check the c2a plugs
row 3 terminal 4 should be yellow.
row 3 terminal 3 should be tan.
have fun :p

Well, I got it fixed FINALLY Thanks for all your help. It was Cujo that got me where I needed to look. It turned out that the tan wires in the A&MC box were reversed. What I do not understand, though, is how they got that way, because that was NOT the original problem. I ain't complaining. It's fixed and that's all I care about. Thanks again!!!
Bob
Cujo, if I weren't 3,000 miles away I'd gladly buy ya a beer I'll buy you one the next time you're in the Philly area. This thing has been a problem for 14 months and I was so damn happy when I fixed it at 2:30 AM I think I woke up all the old folks in the retirement home next door from my screaming..lol.
Thanks again!
Can somebody give an explaniton how pins 2, 3, 6 are supposed to be connected. I had a shortcircuit there for the drive motor connection because of water leakage.
I have a distributor that is pulling the belt hard to the left in the nine pin position (and possibly 6 pin), but seems fine in the other spots. As you can see the residue and...
I have several Pin Elevators that I believe to be out of round on my XLi's and was curious if anyone has ever run across this before and is so, what you did about it.
I'm...
