The new one came Friday. The book with the exploded parts view is spiral bound. Price book is stapled. It comes with a CD that has parts and prices also, but I haven't had a chance to look at that yet.
King- thats the sweep mount bracket. What I'm talking about is the rubber shock mount. In the book it lists part 52 as 070 003 195-Shock Mount, then part 52A as 090 006 136-Shock Mount(90S/8800).
The 8800 sweep is different then the 70. The Links are round so they use a flat steel plate to atatch the shock mount onto the round link. So the flat steel plate has 6 holes, 4 for the shock and 2 for the bolts that go through the round sweep link.
I would be interested in getting that CD. Is there a part number on it?
The parts book I got last month has some pages in it showing there new and improved parts. When I thumbed through it I noticed that for some assemblies the exploded parts picture was 2 pages away from the description/item # page. That didn't seem cool. And the price book has Century lane part listed
The book. Better in many ways, but still a bit of a joke in others. Highlighted items on the wrong pages. Some references are made to other pages numbers, but the wrong ones. They now show you the old rod end parts #'s (greaseable) as well as the new (self-lubricating), but they don't sell the old ones!
Some notes: for those of us who refuse to pay $313 for a large plow, see the number in the price book just below the large plow part #, similar but last two numbers different, for about $112. Wondering what this part was, I did some research and interrogation at AMF TECH SUPPORT. It seems that, even though it's not in the parts book, this large plow is available to us. The difference? No hush-mush. That's right, you too can be the proud owner of a large plow without all the frills, namely $200 worth of sludge undercoating. (Excuse me, but I used to undercoat entire Cadillacs for $50 each)
Bowlequip is the walking encyclopedia of all things AMF. If you need to know it, you ask him. He got so tired of all my Questions that he got rid of me :p . Just kidding Bowl.
Petey: Now I've got no one asking me questions. They must think they know it all.
Anyway, I just got a few 090 sweep shock mounts in.
The only difference is that all the studs are the same...short. They're for the steel sweep links. You may have seen these links when I got them in over a year ago to check them out.
Sorry, guys (and gals). After getting two of those $110 large plows from AMF, I was informed that listing that part number was a mistake (when I tried to order 6 more), and they are NOT available for sale. Too bad, because I just purchased enough sound deadening sheets from McMaster-Carr (and cut them to fit) for 14 plows !
Also, Petey: the carpet belt with the suffix "B" was also a mistake. The "B" stands for bulk. Belts for sale to consumers go to AMF from the manufacturer in boxes. Belts for use on the assembly line come (lots) on a skid, with no boxes. These are bulk. AMF has no idea how it got into the price book, nor how they arrived at that price.
LOL, AMF generally has no idea about anything - part books included. Isn't it about time AMF started looking after their workers?? Hard to keep running a >successful< business if you dont!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">What I want to know is WHY they are not available for sale. I'd much rather buy the cheaper priced plows and the heck with the sound crap. I think they should be for sale since they are in the book. I received a much cheaper turn pan from them whihc had none of the sound crap on it. There's two part nos. for the turn pans as well. The cheaper one has no sound crap.
I'm in need of plows, so I'm curious as the the story I'll get when I try to order some of those.
