Desk man went back to repair #1 tonite while I was bowling.

He couldn't get the sweep to run.

    Went to the back.

    Sweep motor ran.

Sweep crank arm and adjusting link were going around and around when the sweep run switch was pressed.

The outside race of the rod end fell off the inside ball.

I fixed it by slipping the rod end over the ball and putting a wire tie on the attatching nut so it could not fall off again.

Time for diagnosis and repair = 2 minutes.

File this one away in your memory if it happens.

I had just lubed that rod end today.

I had one tonight too....had a front hinge asem. break loose from the hub...took the spotting hook and reached under the machine....hooked the spring and pulled back as hard as I could and sat 9 boxes of bowling pins on top of the handle to keep it in place...had to readjust it a couple of times but it ran for two shifts like that.
