Re: Pinfork?

A pin fork is used for many things - to quickly reset pins that are laying on the deck, to remove dead wood from the flat gutters or deck area, to knock down pins from a full rack to reset certain pin combinations for the bowler or in my case, to retrieve dropped tools and parts that are under the machine. To understand what it looks like, make a peace sign with your hand & fingers. Now bend your fingers down at the knuckle nearest your finger nail. That opening between your fingers needs to be wide enough to fit around the neck of the pin but narrow enough to be able to pick up the pin by the neck without dropping through. This 'U' shape is attached to a rod that enables you to reach all the pins on the deck from between the table and the curtain rod. Use material that is light, strong and narrow for best results. Steel rod is a good choice.

Also handy for the occasional spear chuck behind the machines when I’m a bit up set.

If you want to see what one looks like check out the pics of Queens center...I think he has two for every machine.

I've had great success with making pinforks out of 3/4" EMT and Brunswick turret wires.

Adding pins...I can reach 4 - 10 withouth problems.
If have to add 1,2 or 3 I will have to climb on the pindeck, same story for the deadwood.
If I only have to put back a single 1, 2 or 3 I put it 10" backwards, never had any complaints about that
But if pinforks makes live 'swel, how about a picture(I can have some dirty ones).

Now Sponge Bob lives with Jerry's mom.

and thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

They have to be about six feet long. In meters ? about 1&3/4 meters. We keep four on each side of 24 lanes. How can you work without one? You're going to love them.
Old 82/30 curtain rods work well and they're light.
