  • AMF BALL DETECTORS

Hey guys, Ive got 82-70's and am trying to install Amf ball detectors part # 244001058. The problem i get is when i have an out of range reversing the sweep triggers the ball detector. I have them mounted behind the downsweep. Now i would move them out on to the capping but only one setting works on the time delay. the minimum delay is the only setting that works. Any other setting causes the machine to go into continuos cycle. Amf tech support wasnt any help at all, and i was trying to save $ buying amf instead of the ZOTS any ideas? Thanks.

    Re: AMF BALL DETECTORS

I've installed a "rake down" microswitch which cuts the lead to the A&MC box when opened. This way, the pinsetter will only cycle by the ball detect if the machine is at 0 degrees. I will try and post a pic to show you. It works great.

Another option, is if you have MP Chassis, is to kill the BE CB to go into a Manual Intervention, and then run the SWSR, after the rake is up, then hit the stepper button to bring it back on line.

        Re: AMF BALL DETECTORS

If the sweep blocks the IR beam, try putting a reflector on the side of the sweep towards the trigger head (use double faced tape).
This reflector will keep the beam from breaking when the sweep comes down.

          Re: AMF BALL DETECTORS

You will have to mount the reflectors and box on the flat gutter/transition block line.....it is on the up slope of the kickback....the sweep will not break the beam on an offspot.....this is where my Bowltronics are mounted.

I have AMF ball triggers on my machines. 82/70s
with mp chassis.Your problem is the ball trigger
is not back far enough toward the back of the
machine.Make sure the ball trigger is in back
of the sweep when it drops.Make the delay as
short as possible then you should be all set.

You can utilize the scoring start switch on the NO contacts with chair terms.
