  • Part # Question

Anybody have a part number for the new-type WH BE centrifugal mechanism? It's the coil-spring type with a 2" switch plate.
    Thanks!

            TRIANGLE:

IF YOU LOOK ON PAGE 38 IN THE VANTAGE BOOK YOU'LL SEE THE TWO DIFFERENT SPRING MECHANISMS. THE ONE ON THE LEFT I HAVE IN A LOT OF MY WEST COMBOS AND THE ONE ON THE RIGHT I HAVE IN BOTH MY 314 AND 325 WEST BE's. I HAVE BEEN SWITCHING (NO PUN INTENDED) TO BOWLTRONICS SOLID STATE SWITCHES THOUGH. FOR $22.00 AND A TWO YR WARRENTY YOU CANN'T GO WRONG AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH ALL THE FUSS THE MECHANICALS CAN GIVE.

                Guys -
Thanks but that's just it - it's not in the Vantage catalog. I don't think it's in any catalog. It's a mech that's only been used for a couple years by AO Smith, only in 60hz BE motors (070 100 510).
It's similar to item 29 on page 38 of the Vantage catalog, but the plate is a much wider diameter. It works with the purple switch, I'm not sure of the part number on that either...

Maybe AMF hasn't even come up with a part # for it yet, but I figure if there's any place to find a #, it will be here on Bowl-Tech!

Yes! Felix, that's it! The one on the white rotor. That number ain't right though.
                    Funny - we're able to get a picture, but not a #.

                      Re: Part # Question

we cant get them out here any more. We have to buy SOLID STATE ones from Cybernetic Solutions. They are a very reliable switch. Been using them for over 4 years and i have not come across a bad one. I am pretty sure you can buy them from AMF over there on this part number 610-309-046. Check out there web site <a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank">http://www.cybernetic.com.au</a></a></a></a></a></a></a></a></a></a>

I also use cybernetics solid state start switches and have it on 90% of my motors in 30 lane centre and will be converting to 100% as they centri mechs die

                          Re: Part # Question

Well before this topic dies and languishes in the bowels of BowlTech, I thought I'd let you know my findings.
Thanks for the suggestions on Cybernetic, I've only heard good things about them, but I'm really interested in the mechanism and switch.
I've been working with some of the best distributors in America and none of them have a part #. Nobody.
It is my belief that AMF doesn't know that AO Smith has been putting these switches and mechs in their motors lately.
So, there are no part numbers for the mech or switch.
When changes develop, I or someone at AMF will post it here so that you can replace them.

                            CHADDO,
why don't you just put a older type centrifugal mech on and use the switch that goes with it.
you just have to get the centrifugal in the right place,so it closes the switch, and then when motor starts it clears the switch!
                            DIRT.
if things aren't going right just use a bigger hammer! DIRT
