Is anyone else having these AMF carpet belts curl up on the ball door side or am I just special? If it's just me what would cause this?

id say mate you may just be special (no offence) not in one of those special only a mum could love ya kind of specials hehehe, just none of my carpets do that and they are quite old, all i could say is have you checked out the condition of your pit angles?? Or is the carpet a short one leaving a huge gap at your ball exit just rubbing on the edge of the pit angle?

The pumpkin belts wear at the ball door.....they fray....they suck....

The best belt is Vantage premium.

Stahl's reportedly makes a good belt.....however I do not like corded woven belts.

        Re: Pumpkin/tan

I started putting them in when they first came out (1998?). Haven't had any curl or fray. They track well, clean easily, and do not stretch length-wise like the Vantage ones do.

          Re: Pumpkin/tan

Been using the pumpkin carpets for two years. Have not had any problems with them. They are as good as the day i installed them. Had several stahls carpets that formed a hump on the side and would prevent any six or seven pound ball from entering the exit, those are all gone now. They gave me a new white one to fix problem but any others would be pro rated for cost to replace. No thanks. Most carpet problems are caused by poor tracking. Good carpets should last several years.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'm not a big fan of those. I have the exact problem you described. I like either the Vantage Premium or the Stahls belt. I've heard that our local distributor has some "Green felted" carpet that's supposed to be pretty good. I'll have to get some more info in that.

There could be an underlying cause at work there, too... make sure the carpet isn't riding up hard against (or over) the front roller flange.

I got rid of AMF carpets quite a while ago... any that are left will be replaced with Vantage carpets when they fail.

I have heard of one thes super carpets curling. And i have no idea it could curl especially when they cost over $400 bucks! for that money you think they would be a brilliant never go near them for a while type of carpet.
