cushion shock broke,so I grab a new one and try to re assemble it and just how do you get the collar back down with the spring on
I looked at some other shocks on the machines and the spring is about 6 1/2 inches long with the collar locked in place.
that spring is stiff how do I compress the spring and move the collar at the same time.
thanks for the help!

Re: cushion shock

Put shock in vise up to colar. Lossen that Hex Cap screw. take a 9/16 - 5/8 wrench bout half way into the spring stradeling it over the piston. Rotate the wrench clock wise till it becomes very tight against the vise. Then pull the wrench away from the vise and nock the colar up and re-tighten cap screw. Re-adj shock in vise by moving it back against the colar. Re-do step above by moving wrench clockwise until tight. Pull away and slide colar away from bottom of shock. Adj to spec. I adj them to 4 1/2. Nice and tight. Saves on wear from the Start switch Assy.

Good Luck
