• Sure Pik problem

Turned on 16...ball lift would not run....checked relays....safety switch....aux. switch....changed chassis....checked amc box....still no go.....

I took the AMC plug off and sprayed it with contact cleaner.....the Sure Pik finally ran

Re: Sure Pik problem

It ran after cleaning the AMC plug, but it wouldn't run with the auxiliary switch on?

I had a similar problem before... we got some bad auxiliary switches... the rivets that hold the terminals on began to loosen and arc. after a while, they would stop running occasionally, start running w/o the machine on, not shutting off, etc... Every time, it came down to a bad switch.

Re: Sure Pik problem

Good thing you were there... I don't know how many times I've walked into the bowl, and heard something running... walk down the lanes, sure enough, there's a 'pik running on auxiliary.

The excuse usually was "we had a problem and it wouldn't run for some reason, so we put it on auxiliary"

Well... thanks much, potatohead... so how come the problem isn't marked down on the trouble sheet in the back... AND WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU SHUT IT OFF AT THE END OF THE NIGHT?!?!?

I don't know WHAT the deal is at our place.

In the morning, you come in, and have to reach in and switch on the Sure-Piks on lanes 1/2, and 3/4. Then down to 9/10, 17/18, 19/20, and then walk back to the kitchen fusebox, and reach up and turn on 21/22!

Some mornings I've come in to find all those machines above have been running ALL NIGHT!

Re: Sure Pik problem

Sounds like a lot of electrical mismaintenance went on at one time... do they have relays in them, or did someone just direct-wire a switch from the AC to the motors?

I have the wiring pinout if you want a copy of it... sounds like some rewiring is in order.

The AMC line from the machine to the 'pik is supposed to switch the 24VAC power from the transformer in the shurpik control box when the machine comes on... then the relay transfers the mains power to the drive & blower motors.

LOL!

The last time someone tried to rewire anything at our center, we almost had a FIRE!

Yep. Cluster-**** system of wires...

Leave well enough alone I guess

MP Chassis Tester

Good morning,
I have built a tester for the MP Chassis for the 82-70 machines. Instead of using the cam switches
I am using relays. My question is to anyone that may...

*sigh* Hello friends..

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Adapting the Bluffton end cap & terminal board kit to Franklin BE (and FE) motors.

Left a rant about this in the bowling forum…

I’ve already repaired a a number of Franklin FE motors using the Bluffton-style end cap and terminal board kit (090-004-582)....

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.

Is anyone running the solderless relays on the accelerators? How do you like them? What brand? How difficult to convert was it? Would love the feed back as I'm about to switch...
