• 82/70 table dumps pins

we have a table that when it starts to set pins the cups don't start to turn over like they should. i have watched it a number of times and only caught it twice, and it's been doing it ever since i've been here. the table will be 1/4 to 1/2 way down before the cups start to turn then the cups jerk real fast and by that time the table is almost all the way down and then it dumps the pins all over the place, and causes a good table jam! it might dump the pins 2-3 times in a day, then go 1-2 days and never do it.
it seems to set pins real smooth until the cups don't turn at the right time, and it's hard to catch because it doesn't do it that often.

KEN,
it sounds like one of the spotting cups5,8,or 9 could be catching the table yoke
look for rub marks from the cups on the table yoke. it could just be a loose collar on a cup shaft, and the shaft moves enought to cause a bind from a cup rubbing the table yoke.
if things aren't going right just use a bigger hammer! DIRT

ken,

your problem could be caused by a few things:

1. bad table drive.
2. incorrect spring tension (too little) on the yoke springs that control the cups.
3. respot cell (rsc) or rsc's not completely opening.
4. something else that i don't know or can't think of right now.

1. Check for any contact between cups and other assy. as mentioned earlier.

2. Do all spotting adjustments to the table in proper sequence.

Along with the obvious impedence of a cup and yoke assembly, check that your yoke springs have proper tension with a neighbor machine. Too much tension will cause what you are describing.
Pinspotters do not break down when they are not running!

found the problem I think,9 pin cup was too close to the table yoke and the cup was a little loose.
move it over and no more problems for two days.
thanks for all the input.
