Does anyone know if the carbon brushes for national combination motors are available locally. and if not does anyone know which bowling suppliers carry them?

    Re: natinal combination motor

pikstik, The local motor repair shop that we deal with could not get the brushes. The part # is :785-502-020 .This number came from the JCP catalog. I think Vantage also sells the brushes. I would think that the techs that buy these in quantity will soon post the best place to purchase the brushes.

Our old mechanic used to buy 'sticks' of carbon brush material locally... they're the right diameter, only they're about 6" long, and they're used for making 'custom' brushes. He used to cut them with a small hobby hacksaw to the correct length, and file the ends smooth. Search around on the Web... someone will probably be selling a similar item... probably an industrial supply or something along those lines.

I need to find some myself... the place we used to get them is out of business, and I'm running low on brushes. Ours are still good yet, but I'd rather be ahead of the game and have some on-hand.

I've been buying the brushes from AMF. The local motor rebuilder started charging us double for some reason. They can be bought in stick form and carefully cut to length.

We order em with the 785 part number and we get them. We use a supplier so I dont know if he gets them right from AMF or not. I'll have to look into it, they're all pre cut and everything already when I see our sales rep I'll let ya know
