How do you 'check' the shock absorber on PBL (aside from no movement of it)? and is there an adjustment?

    Re: pbl shock

The shock should be mounted on the even lane side of the pair of lanes....there should be a couple spacers and / or a jam nut with the shock extended most of the way........it should move very little on most PBL installs.

        solardanl,
to check a shockie you should be able to get resistance when pulling the shaft out and then pushing it back in. inside the shockie is a set of valves which allow the oil to travel between compartments at a set rate. if the valves fail they will oil all the oil to travel thru without any blocking. the main action of the shockie on a lift is in the up movement to keep some pressure between the belt and ball. on a pbl shockie there should be 1 inch of packing between the flange at the top of the slide section and the rubber grommet plate. the nut tightening the grommets should be tight.
        regards,
        len.
