7pin respot cell yolk arm
I have a replacement part for a 7 pin respot cell... I don't understand it, It came with a diagram and a different pin, but the way the diagram shows it, I don't see how it works... Basically the diagram shows it as in the picture, but then it doesn't explain what to do with it... Now I have been working on 82-70's for about 10 years and I have never seen anything like this before... Can someone please look at these pictures and explain further.

Re: 7pin respot cell yolk arm
Hi,
What does the original look like? why are you changing?
Here is a description of the assembly for what you are showing. This is a older style assembly for wire way assembly's on 8270's
1.Slide the pin down threw the last hole on the arm, put a thin nut on it.
2.Slide the 070 002 644 plate on pin.
3.Then you need two clips that go on the pin where it is slotted.
4.Assemble arm, plate, pin, clip assembly on to yoke assembly 070 002 629
5. put the two screws in
sorry the parts book I have does not show Part # for the nut or clips.
I hope this helps you!

Re: 7pin respot cell yolk arm
I just put a regular part on the web page I have listed...
If you put a bushing on the top, it is the 7 pin cell, if the bushing is on the bottom it is any other cell...
updated picture...Machines are better than people... I can fix a machine...

if you use the levers pictured you just put the pin in and put the nut on and tighten assemble like the old type without the nut!
also that older lever uses a different pivot stud it's longer.if things aren't going right just use a bigger hammer! DIRT

Re: 7pin respot cell yolk arm
well this thing with the #7 cell has me confused we have about 14 out of 32 that have the lever that hmam posted with the pop link on the 7 cell.
what ones are better,we don't seem to have anymore trouble with either.
the other thing I was going to ask is I'VE been asked to take the head tech job as some of you might remember our head tech was in a car accident a few month's ago and doesn't look like he's going to be able to come back.
so they want me to be the head tech but I'VE only been here about 6 month's and after the first 3 month's I'VE managed to keep the machines running with a little help from another tech down the street, and I think I learned a whole bunch in the last 3 month's. the machines are running about 70% fewer calls then they were 6 month's ago when the old head tech was there for about 15 years. all I want to know is can I be a head tech after 6 month's!how long does it usually take before your a head tech!
and sometimes I wonder what I got myself into.
your thoughts. :pKEN.B

Re: 7pin respot cell yolk arm
some of our machines have these- that's the older style #7 cell. that is used when you have a fixed link from the bell crank to the wireway link, you will have an adjustable carburator type link at the 7-cell. Where as the slightly newer design has a fixed link at the 7-cell (actually the 7-cell of this type is very similar to the rest of them except instead of a ball stud on the lever, there is just a flange bearing ON TOP of the lever where the ball stud would be on the rest of them)-a fixed link being the wireway link connecting directly to the 7-cell via a ball stud on the link, and an adjustable link at the bell crank, you probably have this type on your tables. proper cell adjustment for both types is covered in the manual.

Re: 7pin respot cell yolk arm
I appreciate all the input... I think the problem is that I have newer machines and don't have the pop on carburator linkage for the 7pin... So Apparently I can put the old pin in and use it that way... It looks to be a lot more durable than the old one...
We have a 4 American 2 Korean man team here in Korea, taking care of 14 seperate bowling centers, PM and all the repairs... We just finished removing a 6 lane house and installing some wood lanes and some rebuilt 82-70's that was where I ran into some problems... I replaced a 7 pin cell, and when I went to my office for supplys later, the only part we had in stock was the one I showed on this page... And again, I think I can thank all you fine mechanics out there for your great input... I was so upset about this part, I had to bring it home for this... Thanks a ton! If anyone is looking for work and wouldn't mind moving to Korea for a couple years, send me an email and I will let you know when jobs are opening...Machines are better than people... I can fix a machine...

Re: 7pin respot cell yolk arm
what you have there is for the old style link (short) for the 7 pin run, (cells 1 to 7). however amf do not sell the short link no more.
i worked in a centre with 1/2 old and 1/2 new.
we just slowly changed them all to new style so every machine was the same. you will find that those machines with the old (short) link will have round table supports and on the table torqe tube there will be a pin instead of a bolt through the clevis (yoke weldment). TO MUCH $$$$ TO CHANGE ALL THAT.
