Ball spinning up sure-piks

Anyone have anyway to stop ball spinning up sure-piks using more oil and a couple of my ball returns are spinning. Is there one belt better than an another??

EBN - Ed Fox grey belt will cure the problem

You can adjust the pressure up by moving the spring hangers back on the leather strap....this will cure the ball spinning.

WOAH.......Skip the belt. Problem is with the strap. Think about it.......If the ball is spinning, it means the belt is gripping it. What you need to do, is attach a wire brush to a 3 foot stick, and use it to scuff up the straps every few days.the crap really builds up on the strap quickly. The brush on a stick, will allow you to whip right thru, and do all the straps in minutes. Also, if you still have OLD straps, flip them over and use the other side. The original straps had one smooth side, and a rough side. They work better rough side down. In my experience, stay away from high traction belts. They grip TOO well, and often result in sideways deflection of the belt, which jams it.

Justfixit is right on the ball - In fact we do our belts and leathers every night - lane cleaner on the belts and wire brush on the leathers.

we used to wash our straps every 4 months

by taking them off, soaking them in hot lane wash, scrubbing with a stiff wire brush, then rinsing and then dry off with a towel

we also changed to a softer urethane rail cover

CHECK AND MAKE SURE YOUR PLATE ISN'T TOO LOW, THIS WILL SLOW THE BALL TOO MUCH CAUSING THE BELT AND STRAP TO WORK HARDER TO BRING UP THE BALL
TOO MUCH SPRING TENSION ON THE PLATE WILL ALSO DO THIS.
MAKE SURE THAT THE TOP PULLEY FOR THE BELT IS CENTERED WITH THE STRAP. IF IT ISN'T, IT MAY CAUSE THE BALL TO SPIN SLIGHTLY SIDEWAYS. USE WASHERS TO SHIM ACCORDINGLY.

CLEANING BELTS AND STRAPS ARE A MUST, BUT IF YOU HAVE TO CLEAN THEM DAILY, SOMETHING ELSE IS ALSO IN NEED OF ADJUSTMENT
