• Tip

Here is a tip that has helped us since we installed the "Spider Relays"(sweep reverse kits).
Please give your insight if it could have any negative draw backs. Thanks

Peanut...

As usual, great idea. We get alot of "hanging bananas" calls due to false out of ranges casued by flat gutter pins.

Question though: Which spring did you use and how far apart are the holes on the casting?

Re: Tip

The only theoretical drawback would be the 'weakening' of the table casting, which, I don't believe would be an issue.

I would love to know how to get these spider relays Are they available commercially? Great idea with the spring Masternut, even with centers that do not have the relays installed. We get a few of these calls a week. Thats a few less calls a week right there.

We got the relays from Ed Fox At EBN Services.

Re: Tip

The spring is a good option. When I was at Hilton, we had plastic wedges made that we screwed on. Worked well but screws broke after a while.

In my new place I've just taken my hand held grinder & buzzed off the lip that it catches on. Don't know why they put it there anyway. It isn't on the other side.

Can someone explain what the "spider relays" are? Or is this just a slang term I am not familier with. Thanks

Re: Tip

What the Spider Relay does is put the sweep into an auto reverse when the 82-70 machine detects an out of range. The only problem we had with it was when there was a pin left standing in the gutter and Masternut was so kind to solve this issue for us.

Thanks William! (BIG kiss)

How do you get the curtains to hot hold pins to effect scoring?

I cut them like your earlier mod and some of them ripped?

With these spider relays, if the sweep does an auto reverse, what about pins left on the pin deck? Do the bowlers complain? More info please.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The dead wood will be left behind...that is if there is any. From the tests we ran 3 out of 5 out of ranges didn’t have dead wood left on the deck and made the spare playable. During birthday parties is when 90% of the out of ranges occur and the kids couldn’t care less if there is dead wood or not. It greatly reduces the machine stops and is a real time saver.

*sigh* Hello friends..

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Left a rant about this in the bowling forum…

I’ve already repaired a a number of Franklin FE motors using the Bluffton-style end cap and terminal board kit (090-004-582)....

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
