I was wondering about how long does a humpback ball lift belt normaly lasts. i have one that is one 2 mabey 2 1/2 years old and its trashed it has a chunk missing and the belt seems to be fraying it doesnt scrap on anything and havent had any problems with the belt coming off but it still didnt out last the old orange belts we have i think they are vantage belts and i know they are older that dirt but they work preety good still. id post a pic of it but i dont know how to.
I've got the exact same problem, in about the same time period. I have them on about half of my machines, and I know at least three pair that are goners, not to mention the five I've already replaced. Doesn't help you much, but at least you're not alone.
My mom always said there was one crazy person on every bus,... but I could never find him.

Scotty,
Sorry for your delimma, but it's my understanding from another source that this belt is replaced free of charge. BUT DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH!!!! Check with the distributor and see what they say. (GOOD LUCK)
If you want your picture posted, send it to me and when I get my computer nerd rounded up, he will post it. I'll E mail my addredss.
The old white faced ones did have a seperation problem. This is my 3rd season with the new belts. They are black faced & I have not had a single problem with them. (knock on wood)

I agree with you fully about the instalation needs to be right the guy who installed it before i could is no longer with us and its to my understanding hes now out of work.
I'll send those pics out to you tommarrow got to clean my machine before i take the pics dont want to look bad here lol.
Jerry is right on the money. If the humpback is put in correctly and adjusted properly, they run fantastic and have no problems. I just saw one doing some service work that they did not disconnect the ratchet or install the new lift brackets or ball rings. The belt was tore to bits.......as it should have been.
I still have four original white belts still running strong. These have been moved around a bit to lanes where I had problems with the black ones and they are still going. So I dont think instalation was a problem for the black ones failing. I have even moved the white belts to other lifts that were converted to see if the problem was with the lift itself. I keep going back to the belt. I had two of the belts with the teeth next to the v and they both have blown out. I was also told that there was a problem with the molding ,curing process. I really hope it gets straightened out.
do they still make the white one you guys are talking about and if so where can i get them seems to me that they are the ones i need i really like the humpback belt it does eleminate some problems but they just havent lasted long enough for us.
almost forgot the company that i talked to said that the belt its going to be replaced but not for free but for $95.00 so im trying again. better than $270
i just wanted to know if you guys had some instalation tips for me i have the intsalation book is there anything yall might do that could be helpfull and get the belt to last longer without getting torn up. id really like your input king since you have so many of them and yours last so much longer than mine.
because i have adopted a love for the humpback theory, just a worry if this is a major issue, we wanna cover our house if its as good as it looks, definately need to get a set of the reinforced brackets on, just to enhance the performance of the unit
