Re: MP chasis

I would take all MP chassis and drop them from the end machine to the floor and replace with SS chassis.

Re: MP chasis

I have to agree with King. Probably because I've had 2 of them literally blow up on me for no apparent reason &amp; was never able to fix them. I can fix the SS chassis. I guess the MP just intimidates me because it's different than what I'm used to.

Hey, now...MP chassis are my buddies...some of them even give you 1/4" more wire than S/S chassis to change the C2A block...

Right ON Jez! The S/S chassis is a pain in the butt. What the Heck was AMF thinking mounting a 5 lb. transformer on it's SIDE? Not to mention a chassis that can supply anywhere from 9 to 18 volts to the masking unit...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">What does that have to do with anything? It's not like the sinewaves are going to come out of it crooked, or the voltage is going to spill out... it's a chunk of metal.

We've had to send out 4 chassis for repairs that had problems (like a bad T1) that we didn't want to tackle... out of 35 chassis over more than 40+ years, that isn't such a bad track record at all. Time has yet to tell if the MPs will have that kind of longevity.

To be honest, I don't have experience with working on/with SS chassis, I don't have problems with MP's.
What are the mayor differences that make, as some of you say, a SS better than an MP??
