• Short Cycles

Is there anyway to achieve an auto strike cycle w/o getting a short first ball cycle as well? The short first ball cycles seem to be confusing to bowlers for some reason and usually waste our time (don't ask). The auto strike cycle is great though, and we want to keep it.

Thanks

Re: Short Cycles

There is a problem here, the gutter/7-10 pickoff option was not to be installed south of the Ohio River. Call your scoring installer and tell them where you are located.

I think the X and gutter ball short cycles are a package.

Just educate your bowlers.

If the short cycle is confusing the bowlers, the scoring must REALLY blow them away!

What's so confusing about 7/10 pick or miss? I mean just look at the 1st & 2nd ball lights...it's not rocket science.

But, yes, the short strike and 7/10 pick is a package deal. All or nothing.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Just this morning, a couple that were bowling while I was doing the lanes encountered a scoring problem. The husband bowled right after his wife got a spare in the 10th frame. He never noticed that her name was still on the monitor. It took them about 5 minutes to puzzle out what went wrong.

Re: Short Cycles

Okay...after doing a little tinkering here I was ABLE TO acheive the Short Strike Only while the table "feels" for pins on first balls.

I don't know what setup you have as far as equipment goes. Here, we're running AccuScore+ with CT Ultra 98 Plus MP Chassis. I set my cycle speed to FAST. What's happening now is the pinsetter's time delay is too fast to wait for resolving input from the CWC and has the table feel for pins, but on a strike I still get quick cycle 90% of the time.
Just playing with things a bit. I'm setting everything back to NORMAL speed since we don't have a problem with pick cycles.
Let me know if you have a similar setup and I can walk you through.

My setup is:

82/70 MP (Ultra 98 +)
AccuScore Plus (mix of 7500/7150)
AccuCam 1 &amp; 2.

However, you cannot pick your shortened strike cycles. I was fortunate to be able to do it since the Ultras have flexibility.

Sounds like some customer educationis in order. I had some problems that were similar. All I had to do is educate my bowlers. But you are always going to get this problem no matter what you do. The only thing you can do is eliminate how much it happens.

Replace your burned-out ball light bulbs.
