• Not Cycling

O.K. folks. Thanks for all the assistance you have been giving me in your replies. Now I have a new Problem.
We can press cycle switch (switch in the rear, front switch will not activate it) and sweep will go to gaurd position and stop.Cannot reverse the sweep but can run it through manually. Will not cycle table at all. Can run the table thru the cam switch but sweep will not operate thru the cam switch.

Check your gripper protection switch (GPS) and wiring to switch.

If all is good try changing chassis.

definately try changing chassis. Check reset button on ball return up front. It bothers me that you cant reverse the sweep, though, that doesnt sound related (unless you have a screwy chassis). Good luck.
The impossible often has a kind of integrity to it which the merely improbable lacks.

Re: Not Cycling

Forgot to mention we have changed the chasis out with four different machines. All chasis work fine on other machines. Have also bypassed the gripper protection switch.
With sweep at zero you can loosen SA and rotate it back and forth and it will not kick the relay out. This is with motor unplugged and switches on you get not reaction from SA cam.

Re: Not Cycling

Dont overlook the fact that even though you have bypassed the gripper switch, it still may be contributing to the problem. Did you jump the wires at the switch or in the wireway? If you just connected the wires at the switch, the other end may have come undone. You may also have a break in the wire somewhere. If you connected the gripper wires in the wireway, they may have come disconected as well. This could explain the sweep stoping at 1st guard when you do get it to cycle, but It shouldent affect the front end button. Does the machine cycle when a ball delivered?? You may have 2 seperate problems here.

Re: Not Cycling

Should be able to reverse the sweep. Sweep reverse switch doesn't even involve the chassis.

Sounds like you have more than one problem.

Have you checked the wires in the A&MC box? How 'bout the control box?

Have you checked the OS switch?

Have you recently installed solid state start switches on your motors?

How does the machine act when you try to run it on a second ball cycle ? If it runs normally, check the G.P.S. and wires, like Triac first said. If it does not run normally, let us know what it did.

Re: Not Cycling

Definately sounds like 2 diff problems to me. Most likely a bad Sw reverse switch, and possibly a GPS problem (still) or the Offspot switch (excellent call Dutch, we had that happen once and it took us 2 days to find it lol). But IMHO it almost HAS to be more than just one problem here
All I want in life is to turn wrenches and climb around pinsetters/pinspotters again :/

Re: Not Cycling

Kinda off the wall, But you might check the switch at manager control counter. Might be a bad switch, That's allowing the machine to be in shadow play. Kinda far off, But everything else has been covered.

Have you checked the machine end C2A plug? Another simple check, might be a pin pushed in....Jon

C2A plug is my guess too. A crack in the plug will sometimes let pins slide in and out or get close enough to touch adjacent pins.
