One Of The Questions Was The Measurement For The Width Of A Spotting Cup On An 82-70 Mach.Your Choices Were:A)4 1/2,B)4 1/8,C)4 5/8,D)5 inches.In Which You Dont Even Get The Choice To Pick 4 1/4 Which is The Answer Because I Got The Answer From The "AMF GOD" Himself (John Isbell-82-70 Technical Trainer For AMF), & The Answer Is In The Service Manual. Thanx Guys.

            the official back in the 70's was 4 1/8" +/- 1/8"

            however i agree with the king, hammer it til it spots.

              my guage was/is 4 inch ball peen hammer, if it doesnt fit through the tips with room to spare, its "hammer time!!"

                    I would'nt use a hammer on the spotting cups,you will find it quicker and easier with a big shifter.
