The Quiz On The Home Page Isn't Fair. One Of The Questions Was The Measurement For The Width Of A Spotting Cup On An 82-70 Mach.Your Choices Were:A)4 1/2,B)4 1/8,C)4 5/8,D)5 inches. In Which You Dont Even Get The Choice To Pick 4 1/4 Which is The Answer Because I Got The Answer From The "AMF GOD" Himself (John Isbell-82-70 Technical Trainer For AMF), & The Answer Is In The Service Manual. Thanx Guys.

            the official back in the 70's was 4 1/8" +/- 1/8"

however i agree with the king, hammer it til it spots.

                    Hey guy's,
I would'nt use a hammer on the spotting cups, you will find it quicker and easier with a big shifter.
                    willey.
                    always doing my best.

"Don't hammer the cup if you're hammered."
You may end up with aluminum scrap all over the deck.
