• Trouble Light System

Just got done with my electrical install for my 12 strike scoring install on monday..Tonight went down behind and turned on my trouble bell system and the coil inside the big black box on the curtain wall is making a noise like chattering...Looked at the boxes the electricans installed they look ok...Were else can I look???

Re: Trouble Light System

If a relay or solenoid 'chatters', a lot of times it's caused by things like running a DC coil on AC, or it's feeding and breaking it's own circuit. I've never seen a 12-strike system, so I'm not sure how it interfaces to the trouble system (or even IF it does).

Look for the obvious first... you had a lot of wire pulling and routing going on. Make sure no wires have become pinched, grounded, or pulled off. From there, it may be a process of elimination... pull one pair off the trouble system at a time until it starts working properly... the last wires you removed will usually be the culprits.

That's about all the thoughts I can come up with on it... Good luck...

Re: Trouble Light System

when i get a chence i will get a copy of our electril diagram for our trouble bell system (we even have a counter) this works except on L 1&2 where ppl how know nothing about electronics have made mods and failed so we have most of our problems with our system on L 1&2

but it works

Re: Trouble Light System

Hey Dropper,
I designed and modified the system at Ashmore and I do know a lot about electronics and electrical theory and when I left earlier this year the system was working fine. Please be careful when you make comments about people or situations that you don't know.

i dont know who put the mods there but they are not on your diagram (witch are good i might add)

Re: Trouble Light System

Dropper,
If the sub-unit won't turn off then it will probably be the latch relay located in the box on the back of the machine where the light is attached. The main part of the system was left "standard" except that I changed the power to the light to 24v for safety. The add-ons were fitted to either ring the bell for a preset period or lockout the bell to stop repetitve rings from impatient bowlers.
The unit in the workshop was mainly there to let us know when the bell was rung while we were doing "noisy" work.
Regards,
Len.

yes i have been informed that and it is a good unit (but i think sinced you left some 1 has played around with it)
and im not gonna get into an arugment over a good idea

it works now but i will be the one that has to track down all the problems with it and fix them if they happen again

but all i can say i like the big horn u connected up to it (i can hear it on the other side of the centre)
