  • "Empty" deck respots

Work part time at a center that has spotty(no pun intended;well, maybe)respot issue.
No particular lane, and just a small handful of times a week that this pain in the behind shows up.
Counter person calls back r/spot call(usually a single pin),mech. goes to lane to find 21 pins in bin and deck is empty.
    Equipment is 82-70's w/Accuscore,MP chassis.
I've also seen this call at another center with same equipment some years ago.The mech there swore it was the combination of MP's/Accuscore but at the time didn't have solution.
Any ideas/suggestions from you Heavy Hitters would be greatly appreciated...
p.s.-out of range switches/cables function proper

    Thanx again, respot

i have never worke don a 70 but i think (from what ppl have told me) it is very hard to run a 70 with 21 pins

if all your 70s have 21 pins take 1 out of each lane and see if this fixes the problem

Maybe you have a late pinfall problem,ie; pin falls after the scorer has scored, I have seen this on MP's before with AMF scorers.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">This is partially myth. I've run 21 pins in each pinsetter for the past 6 years and have had no problems. The most that will ever be in the bin is 20 as there is always at least 1 pin on the pindeck or in the elevator on its way up to the bin...but by then the machine has cycled and now there's only 11 pins in the bin.

I guess those that have SS chassis without shortened strike cycles might encounter a problem.

              Re: "Empty" deck respots

It could be a late falling pin that the camera picks up or a offspot pin that the table knocks over.

Could be cell adjustments, if pins slides offspot enough for cell to close using its outer point....the pin could fall right through.

since its mp chassis. its working the way its suppose to. the camera see the pin records it, the machine will not go through a strike cycle. On the SS chassis the machine will go into a strike cycle because the chassis control it through the cells. Your problem is in the oor switch or wire. Most likely the pin was off spot machine came down on top of the pin went back up intead of stopping with sweep in down position and 2nd ball light on it swept the pin off. Since the camera seen the pin the chassis think one is still there. Make sure your wires are good, and the switch is ajusted. sometime I found the adjusting screw bent which would make it hard to adjust.

My guess would be RSC adjustments. Pick the machine where it happens most often &amp; check for loose pivot stud screws &amp; sloppy RSC's. Then do complete RSC adj's.

check your solenoid and table drive!!!

We had te same problems on 2 of our machines.
May be The latch on your table drive eccentric didn't engage. when this little thing doesn't pop out, your table tries to spot a set of pins half a way. and goes back up with a full rack.
Some cases, the shuttle will not be pulled.
The problem is in most of the cases the solenoid linkage.. it must lock the lever above the eccentric.
replace the metal thin parts in the spring under the solenoid when they are worn. replace the spring or pull it out to give it more pressure.

                      Hope it helps

Have seen this exact condition when a pin is left standing but slowly falls over. Table comes down and respots ghost pin then goes to 2nd ball waiting for ball to be thrown. Most times bowler just resets pinspotter and corrects scoring as strike.

Hopefully they've got it fixed by now since that was almost 8 years ago.
