  • 82-90 Sweep mounting brackets

Has anyone installed new type sweep mounting brackets which no longer have slides to allow sweep guard to go up and down. Are they stronger?

No they ae not stronger, but fewer parts. We are just about finished our 42 lanes...

I like them, smooth and less deadwood.....

I've had them on for at least 3 years now with no problems. One note, they do bend if the sweep gets hit hard enough causing the sweep to "hop" at the 4-5-6 line coming back to 270. Easily bends back though.

Since the sweep arms will allow the bar to move upward if they contact something, I never really understood the need for the slide. Sounds like someone in R&D agrees with me.

I've just started putting them on. So far, so good.

I like them better, like already mentioned, less parts to deal with.

Just a quick note about the new sweep mounting brkts. I've been getting mine from Stahl's and they are of a beefier material than the ones you get from AMF. It has the same part number as the AMF ones. I just tell them that I want the heavy duity ones
